March Happenings- The Making of a Swap card
Well I am still riding on the wave of Las Vegas where I attended the Stampin Up! semi-annual Onstage Event! Thousands of women meet at venues around the world for the new catalogue and product launch! It is a tradition at these events for Stampin Up! Demonstrators to swap projects and cards they have been working on!
I had been practicing a technique called water color “smooshing”. This is where you add water to ink (mixed 3 parts ink to 1 part water) and “smoosh” a clear window sheet into the mixture. The water and ink attaches to the sheet allowing you to transfer this mixture to another medium like watercolor paper. The result is artsy, edgy almost dramatic, imperfect and colorful! What I like about this card is the imperfections as an end result…. this is not my normal! I like the matching and perfectionism I can achieve with the Stampin’ Up!
